  Juniper Publishers -  Journal of Oceanography Introduction The Tagus River is the longest waterway in the Iberian Peninsula (1,007km) with source in Albarracin mountain- Spain and mouth in a wide estuary near Lisbon - Portugal. Throughout 32% of its waterway Tagus River influences the Portuguese territory with several irrigation dams and hydroelectric power plants. For decades, this river has received environmental pollutants from increased activities in industrial, domestic and agricultural systems, and also from a Spanish nuclear power plant that is 37 years old. This nuclear power plant is about to 100km far from the Portuguese border. For all those reasons it is very important to know the level of contamination of aquatic animals living in Tagus River.   Juniper Publishers -  Journal of Oceanography Abstract Fecal coliform and Total coliform count were done in cultured  Penaeusmonodon  collected from two different islands of Indian Sundarbans namely Bali and Chotomollakhali during 2016. The count was higher in the shrimp sample, water and sediment collected from Chotomollakhali Island where the shrimps were not fed with feed containing additives (garlic extract). In Bali Island, the cultured shrimps were fed with feed containing additives (garlic extract) and seaweed based protein. This formulated natural feed not only boosted up the shrimp growth but also arrested the microbial load to a considerable level. Forecasting Tropical Cyclogenesis with a Global Mesoscale Model: Results for Six Tropical Cyclones in May 2002- Juniper Publishers

  Juniper Publishers -  Journal of Oceanography Abstract Recent advances in global weather modeling and supercomputing technologies have led to promising simulations of tropical cyclones (TCs) that improve our understanding of the impact of scale interactions on model’s predictability. In this mini review, we document the model’s performance in simulating the genesis of six TCs in association with a large -scale tropical convective system that can be identified as an eastward moving Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) in May 2002. It is shown that the genesis of the six TCs can be predicted two or three days in advance, supporting the hypothesis that a large-scale system (i.e., the MJO in this case) may provide determinism in the simulation of TC precursors. Quantitative assessment of biomass, community composition, and abundance is sensitive for sampling methodology, including the location and seasonal timing of sampling, as well as mesh size and gear type. Therefore, repeated and consistent sampling is essential to determine the changes in zooplankton distribution, abundance, community composition and seasonal timing at time scales that have impacts on higher trophic levels. In the present study, El-Mex Bay is highly diversified (204 forms) but low standing crop (annual average 8935 organisms/m 3 ). Using GIS and the other mapping applications give an easy and clear image about the distribution of aquatic fauna especially microscopic forms which help in understanding the dynamic of biological ecosystem. ...
