Growing Demand for High-Quality Seafood Products and Production Systems in Aquaculture- Juniper publishers

Juniper Publishers -  Journal of Oceanography Short Communication Aquaculture production has grown enormously in recent years worldwide especially in Asia due to their high economic value and export. Aquaculture is the fastest growing food production sector in the world, providing almost half of the global fish/shrimp supply. Global fish and shrimp production by 2030, it is estimated that aquaculture production will grow by 40% to satisfy global fish and shrimp demand. Shrimp and fishes are rich in proteins, vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, selenium and essential minerals and is recommended for the maintenance of strong body and healthy bones. With increasing population and health awareness the demand for high quality fish and shrimp is increasing. Nowadays, shrimps/fishes are infected by numerous pathogenic microbes which caused high mortality. Juniper Publishers -  Journal of Oceanography Indian Sundarbans: A Symbiotic Ecotone of Beauty and Danger The mangrove dominated deltaic Sundarbans is one of the most attractive and alluring wonderland in the planet Earth, which seems to inspire human being for unique natural creativity. For myriad reasons the Sundarbans has a unique position in the history, geography, literature and socio-cultural aspects of eastern Indian and Bangladesh. Lying at the southern tips of West Bengal where the land meets the sea forming a delta, the Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world which is conspicuous for its size and biodiversity. Forming a part of world’s largest fluvio-marine Ganga-Brahmaputra deltaic plain at the confluence of the Bay of Bengal, Sundarbans with its endless diversity of vibrating nature is a suitable habitat of world’s famous luxuriant mangrove forest. Juniper Publishers -  Journal of Oceanography Abstract Flooding have been identified by different scholars as a major challenge facing communities, hence this study examines the role of water bodies in the control and management of flood. The study was conducted in Chinda Creek in Ogbogoro section of the New Calabar River, Niger Delta Nigeria. Measurement of study variables was done, this was to identify the influence of velocity, sediment yield, depth and discharge on channel morphology. The channel length measured 643.275m and was divided into 30 sample points were measurement of the study variables were taken. The result from the correlation revealed that channel morphology of Chinda Creek is significantly correlated with discharge and depth. Nevertheless, it has positive correlation with velocity, bed load and suspended sediment load but their correlation were not significant. Multiple regression analysis was used and the result showed that only two variables, discharge and
